The Design Liaison Engineer (DLE) plays a key role in the Gas Turbine Engineering team providing technical support to Manufacturing and Sourcing functions.
Tasks
- Provide Engineering dispositions on non-conformities
- Qualify special processes and second source suppliers, facilitate NPI qualifications
- Lead pre-emptive efforts to improve quality and reduce deviations (analyze recurrent defects to reduce the volume)
- Ensure Engineering presence in the shop
- Work with production to establish and maintain statistical process control. Lead effort to populate process capability database that will be fed back to design for use in NPI process
- Support lean activities, cost reduction (Scrap & Rework)
Expectations
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical or equivalent
- Several years of experience in fabrication/Quality/Engineering department
- Fluent in English and Hungarian
- Manufacturing processes knowledge (Milling, turning, EDM, welding, …)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic and global environment, to influence and to coordinate the different functions involved
- Experience and familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing methods
